Our fitteds are designed to fit snugly around your baby's legs and across their back without being constrictive. They are constructed of super-soft ultra suede as a lining against baby's tender skin and a cotton poly blend decorative outer layer. The inner core is made of 2 layers of absorbant brushed hemp fleece and 3 layers of thin microfiber. Hidden elastic around the legs and along the back keep the diaper snug. The diapers are fastened by 2 rows of polyacetal resin snaps, 6 across for a custom fit. We make our fitteds with and without an extra snap in soaker.

Our covers are designed much like our fitteds so they fit perfectly together! They are made from one inner layer of white 2mil PUL and one decorative layer of laminated cotton. The covers are fastened by 2 rows of polyacetal resin snaps, 6 across for a custom fit. Covers are cut a tiny bit larger than the fitteds to make sure that they cover the fitteds completly around the legs and across the top to elimnate leaks and wicking.

Our soakers are meant to add extra absorbancy to our diapers for your heavy wetters or for overnight use. They are made of 1 or 2 layers of brushed hemp fleece (your choice) and covered in soft ultra suede. They have two snaps at the top which then snap into the fitted diaper. *Note: Our fitteds do not automatically come equipped with the soaker snaps, but we will add them at no charge if you anticipate that you may order a soaker at a later date and let us know.
Your new cloth diapers will go through a lot of wear and tear during their lifetime and how you launder them can prolong this life. I do not prewash in case your little one has sensitive skin so the first thing you want to do is wash your diapers. The best thing to use is a small amount of baking soda in the wash cycle and a small amount of vinegar in the rinse cycle. If you use detergent, use only a tiny bit -- 2 tbsp for a large load should do it -- to avoid any nasty soap build up. Build up can be your diaper's worst enemy because it causes them to lose their absorbency. The best way to check for this is to open your washer during the wash cycle, if you see suds, you need to run them through the rinse cycle again until the suds are gone. Washing with baking soda is the best way to avoid this. AND NEVER USE FABRIC SOFTENER!!
Running your diapers through the dryer too often can also cause early wear and tear. I generally only dry them in the dryer once every 3rd wash. Other times I hang them or lay them flat to dry. If they become stiff and you want to soften them up you can run them through the dryer on low for 15 minutes after they're done air drying. The exception is when you first get your covers, you should throw them in the dryer on the normal setting for 20 minutes to seal the pinholes in the PUL.
Please feel free to email me if you have any other questions about your new cloth diapers!
If you're just starting out in the cloth diapering world and need to know what you need to fill out your stash, we can help. Always be mindful of your baby's weight when ordering -- it's best to order up if you're not sure where he or she fits on the weight scale of our diapers. You also want to take into consideration how chubby your baby's belly and thighs are. If you can pinch more than an inch, you might want to order up so the elastic is not restricting. If the diaper is too big right now, your baby will grow into it but if it's too small you won't be able to use it.
When ordering, keep in mind that you don't always have to use a new cover with every diaper change. If the outside of the cover is not wet or the diaper is not soiled you can re-use the cover. This is why our packages have fewer covers than fitteds in them.
There's no easy way to tell if you will need the extra soaker in your diaper but if you consider your baby a heavy wetter, it's best to go ahead and order them (or at least have the snaps added to the fitted so you can order them at a later date). Remember you don't have to use them with every change, you can add them when you're going to be out for longer than normal or overnight.
We're always happy to answer any questions you have about your Andromeda's Attic diapers or cloth diapering in general, so feel free to email us at any time!
